Javale is pretty stupid, but he can be useful. Rim protection is pretty important and helps quite a bit on the defensive end. Javale can block shots.
You just have to be careful of when and how you use him. Its basically just rolling the dice when you throw him out there. Sometimes you roll a 12 and get paid. Sometimes you crap out.

Lance isnt a horrible signing either.
4.5 mil for 1 year. Hes definitely worth that. He isnt complete trash.
Obviously Mcgee and Lance arent ideal, but they are cheap and can actually contribute sometimes.

Kawhine can be suspended if he's medically cleared and refuses to play, according to the CBA FAQ section on Player Discipline:
"The CBA does not give a complete list of reasons for which a player can be fined or suspended, although some are specified:
- Intentional failure or refusal to render the services required under the player's contract or the CBA: Suspension (length unspecified)."

Cool. So you if you're adam Silver you just take the top 16 teams then to the playoffs and keep East and West conferences. Give them a stupid banner like division leaders and call it good
Sure we beat the Thunder and Clippers but then we lost to the real superteams, the Rockets and Warriors.
Make it much more NFL like.
Division teams you face 5 times each = 20 games.
2 other divisions 3 times each = 30 games
3 remaining divisions 2 times each = 30 games.
(These divisions rotate)
20 + 30 + 30 = 80.
2 less games. Whatever. Shortens the season a little.
Take top 16 teams into the playoffs but make it one pyramid instead of two.
So 1 v 16, 2 v. 15...
Give banners for division championships.
Good enough for me. And evens out the all star game. Keep the picked teams format.

I think it is that the Lakers have Cap Space and the ability to attract free agents that Cleveland didn’t. Lakers also have 3 young players that could be stars. Cleveland was stuck. Without Bron, Cleveland still have good chance to make playoffs if East. Thompson, Love, Hood, Hill, and Smith is not a bad starting five.
Boston is going to dominate the East for the foreseeable future.
Toronto and Philly will be second tier.

LeBron going to LA without another star is about the most compelling story I've seen in sports. His legacy has been going toe to toe with MJ for the last 5+ years. One of the biggest excuses for LeBron's Finals run was that the East is so weak. After the guy takes a below average Cavs team to the Finals while playing every game of the season and postseason, he decides to join the Western Conference at the absolute height of it's dominance. Not only does LeBron join a conference with one of the best teams in the history of the game, he joins a 65 win Houston, and a number of emerging powerhouses in Utah, Denver and New Orleans. In addition, he's joining a team that hasn't won a playoff game in years. Once again, he's going to a terrible team with the expectation that he can take them to the promised land. If he does, MJ is no longer the greatest. They are equals, depending on how many LBJ wins....
