To ignore the similarities to how Hitler overthrew a democracy and the way that Trump has wielded power for the silly reason that the end result of Hitler's reign is not the current reality of Trump's is pure foolishness. We can't wait until millions are slaughtered and then say, "Huh, turns out they are kind of the same, after all." The end result doesn't have to be the same to see that the methods to gain and hold power are similar. We don't have to wait for the results of a wannabe dictator to play out before it is okay to identify a person as a wannabe dictator who uses minority populations to focus the angst and fear of his supporters into hatred and violence.

Trump will not be Hitler because, and possibly only because, we've seen this before and many of us are prepared to stop it before it is too late.

I find belated apologies and "Johnny-come-latelies" self-serving. Like when Dr. Dre or Axl Rose apologise for beating women 30 years ago. They now know they were wrong. Great. Why the **** could you not have known that 30 years ago?

Trump was one of the most famous people in America, period. Long before he ran for presidency. You and everyone else were damn well informed about who he is as a person. You knew he was a crappy businessman who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. You knew he was racist. You knew a man who only married models thought of women as objects. You knew he had zero qualifications having never held political office even of the lowest kind. You knew all this. You had to. You weren't living under a rock in the '90s and '00s. And sorry if I doubt some of of the sincerity or just cannot forgive that you would vote for him and unleash him on your fellow citizens, as well as all of us around the globe.

I'm sitting here right now watching Pence and McConnell on CNN talking like they were fighting Trump from the get go and I'm sorry to tell you, I'm trying super hard to find any sympathy for people like you.

I mean I was in elementary school in the 90s... my bad.

My issue is most of these politicians are ****** people too. I probably fell for too much Reddit **** on Clinton... I didn’t want to vote for Trump but saw it as the lesser of two evils. My bad... guess that means people like me are the same as wife beaters and nazis?

I agree the lip service some are giving now that it benefits them to back away from trump is maddening. If I think someone is genuine about change in how they view things I won’t fight them on their way to the right side of the line.

I can see your point but not sure I agree. He should be arrested and put in jail. This was a planned event. He had a rally steps from the where he knew Congress was deciding the election and sent the angry mob to attack.
