I don’t. I think things should be equal across the board as far as this goes.

So you think that a 1000 fine levied on me is the same punishment/deterrent as a 1000 dollar fine on a billionaire?

I think that i would be ****ed by having to come up with 1000 dollars to pay a fine. I dont think a billionaire would really give a ****.

I think that the punishment for you should be the same as him. Should you pay 500k?

Justice is justice and shouldn’t it be blind?

In our justice system there are two types of compensation that can be awarded to a victim.

Compensatory: This is an amount directly linked to the amount of demonstrable loss the victim can prove. So if someone broke your leg with a baseball bat, you would get the amount of money it cost in medical bills, the amount of money you lost by not being able to work, etc.

Punitive: This award has NOTHING to do with the victim. This is an amount intended to punish the guilty party and the size of this award is partially based on an amount of money that would discourage the guilty party from engaging in similar behavior in the future. So for instance, when McDonald's has over 700 reported cases of people being severely injured by their very abnormally hot coffee being served in a cup that has shown a significant tendency to fail under normal use that multi billion dollar company has to pay around $1 million in punitive damages in the hope that they will take reasonable precautions to protect customers from literally life threatening burns.

So justice absolutely recognizes that the punishment has to fit the person being punished.

To me a mark of a man is admitting when he’s wrong.

I stand corrected. @Bulletproof thanks. I have to think this over. Challenging to say the least.

I doubt Lowry takes that same shot at a fan during a home game. He took advantage of the situation and didn't care if someone got knocked out. Punk move. He deserved to get shoved.

This is horse ****. I 100 percent guarantee that Lowry dives for a loose ball at home.

The amount of posters writing as if Lowry had malicious intentions against warriors fans is disturbing. No wonder why paranoid *** clowns like Alex Jones are so popular in this country. Lowry was merely going for a loose ball to win a championship.

I think Lowry just made a judgment in that instant that he might be able to save the ball and he went for it. It was a bad judgment though and became reckless towards those fans. I'd be pissed if I were that fan too. It was a really dangerous move. But **** happens... including a shove. And then you move on. I think Lowry should have been immediately apologetic to the fans for putting them in harms way and afterwards the owner should have quickly apologized to Lowry to the tune of, "sorry man but you came in like a freight train and my reaction was that I was pissed about it". Then they could have met the next day and the guy could have as an owner apologized and brought awareness to fan/player interactions and Lowry could have apologized for misjudging it and going a little too hard into the crowd and explained that it was unintentional.

Just my opinion...

The penalty was too harsh. Yes, he shoved him. But that shove could do absolutely zero damage. It was classless and unnecessary, but not worthy of the fine AND ban this postseason AND ban ALL of next season.

I think he should been fined by the NBA, banned for this postseason, banned for any Raptors or Kyle Lowry team for next year, and he should have had to make a donation to Lowry's foundation. If he didn't apologize publicly, he should also be banned for all of next year.

The penalty does nothing productive. It's all punitive. They should have found a way to turn into something positive instead of just hammering a guy who made a mistake in a very bang bang scenario.

Players punch, shove, push, kick, trip, cuss, throw tantrums during games and they aren't banned sometimes at all. An owner got caught up in the moment when a player literally jumps on his lady friend's lap full speed.

A little too harsh in my opinion.

I disagree, why would the fan be angry over the player playing the game? Do fans get angry over foul balls?

It’s pretty simple, don’t want the risk of having a player running into you by going after a loose ball? Don’t get court side seats. Literally sit anywhere in the arena and you’ll never have this problem.

You sound a bit counter what you stand for.

And then the dude could get hit with a $500k fine from the league for tampering.
