Stars Season Opener Game Thread: 8PM Mountain Time

No ****? Tyler Smith wasnt in any pre-season lottery mock draft. How is that no ****?

You would trade taylor hendricks for current 55 year old john crotty so of course you would trade him for tyler smith.

He has awful body control in space with the ball.

Yeah even though it went in, it didn't inspire a lot of confidence for the next time he was in that situation and that proved to be true. Probably should have gotten called for a charge on the next transition opportunity he got. I'm not sure if he looks so clunky because he doesn't know what to do or if he's physically not agile. I'm kinda leaning towards the first explanation.

It's very reminiscent of John Collins when he has the ball in transition. Just doesnt have the coordination with the ball in hand to control himself, but even worse because of how awful the handle is.

He has to get much lower with his dribble. He has an extremely high center of gravity for someone his height. It's very rare you see a 19 year old go from trash handler to good, so I'm not holding my breath. Think he is strictly a 4 3&D who will never be able to handle it beyond a straight line 1-2 dribble drive.

Werent G-League games only 10 minutes quarters last year? Really no reason for G-League games to be 48 minutes long.

Hopefully Sensabaugh isnt in the G-League for too long.

Not sure the G-League is going to do him a lot of good. He can already do all the G-Leaguey stuff well. Get him on the real team and teach him proper NBA defense and how to be a role player.

I agree. He's way higher skill level than the other Stars perimeter players. If he stays here too long, he might pick up bad habits instead of learning how to scale down his offense and put more energy into defense.
