The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

I will be glad if NBA tries to fix this fake tough culture out of the league.

Uhh, you do realize that this guy would be gone, no?

Not sure why this brings me joy but… OKC trying to make moves to suck… actively offloading vets… playing young guys… but still they win more than the Pelicans and wolves even though they are trying so hard to win. Some franchises just can’t figure **** out.

Since the Pelicans suck, they could move off some vets they brought in hoping to compete if it returns minor assets. 3-for-1 deals aren’t all that realistic but what nonsense “assets” could we send in a package of Udoka, Oni and Hughes for Garrett Temple? That move even saves us a bit of tax this year (not a ton).

The Pelicans moved down in the draft and traded two future firsts in the process of building this team. David Griffin is a joke.

I don't think it would save money. The two players we'd lose in the trade would have to be replaced (by league rules, to keep 14 on the roster). So we'd effectively be losing somewhere around 5.3 million of player salary, but with Temple and 2 replacement salaries, we'd be on the hook for somewhere around 7.5 million.

Good call on a NBA thread in the Jazz forum.

Pissed off this morning watching Lakers, Nets and GSW highlights from last nights games. Nets blank the Magic, Lakers beat the Heat. Time for the Jazz to step up. Lakers and GS finding a way to get it done without Lebron and Klay while we are losing to the ****ing Magic.

Have you looked at their respective travel schedule compared to ours?

Both teams schedules are heavy with home games and I don’t think GS has had a back to back. Ain’t worried about the Lakers but the Warriors look legit if Curry stays healthy. #1 seed is not the goal though. May not be desirable depending on how the bracket lines up.

GSW has had a truly cupcake schedule, but they look great nonetheless. They had a HUGE offseason on the margins. Getting Bjelica, Porter, Igoudala, JTA (last year), and Payton were great acquisitions by them.

They have looked really good while beating up on cupcakes. I do think they have a couple issues that will come… when Looney gets hurt and misses time they get super duper small. Wiseman may have improved but he really hurt them last year. If Steph misses 10 games they will really struggle. Every team struggles without their best player but I think they’d fall off a cliff for a few games.

I didn’t buy the hype preseason but they look like they will be a problem.
