Trade deadline discussion

Very surprised. I think Trent was good for Porty. Weird trade.
I think Norman is a little better but I think his next contract will be a lot more than Trent's. It is a weird deal all the way around imo. Thought Raps could get something long term for him.

It’s amazing to me how many fans of the NBA don’t understand how anything works. People are ******** on the Magic but they’re doing great and doing what they should be doing.
I thought they would get a little more for Gordon but they killed it and actually moved the franchise in the right direction. They will have a **** ton of space now too... They can go hard for a young RFA or absorb some fodder from other teams.

Plus they will for sure be a bottom 4 team meaning they will likely land a building block in the draft.

Carter is also a great flier to take.

I think Powell was grabbed as a CJ replacement.
I haven’t watched a lot of Portland, but whenever I do, Trent is a consistent, high-motor bulldog on the perimeter. I’m not surprised Uriji is interested. Trent will work out in Toronto.

I don't think so... I think they wanted another guy that can shoot and create a bit more than Trent.

Also Zach is a FA after next year... the pick they send this year will be middle of the road and the 2023 pick could be a lotto pick. Bulls pushing all in like this now is a little questionable imo.

this makes more sense now.

Here's the thing about Orlando/tanking. Blowing it up doesn't mean you automatically get a great team in the future. Being a boarder line playoff team doesn't mean you are in purgatory forever and can only get out by being bad. There are just as many teams (if not more) that became good around the margins. There are also teams that tank year after year and don't get better.

Sounds, obvious....but the good FO's will build good teams with or without tanking. The bad FO's will build bad teams with or without tanking. ORL is probably in a better spot than they were before....but it takes a series of good moves to build a good team. Picks/assets are nice to talk about but don't mean anything if you can't execute.

Well the Jazz waited until Hayward’s contract year to even pretend they were going for it and that didn’t work out.

They either needed to start maximizing this season or consider trading Lavine IMO.

Is this just a joke, or do you actually think a Dante reunion has real probability?
I've joked about this too and while I'm joking about it, I'm also serious. If Exum was bought out, we would be the only team knocking. And for all of our talk about "don't disrupt chemistry" and someone used to not getting a lot of time, plus the idea that he's the Harden stopper, I'd put a signing as like 80% chance if he were bought out. But that would require him to be bought out. His agent probably doesn't want to accept less money because he may never play in the league again, unless he has that assurance from us, but that's just for signing a minimum deal for a couple months, so there's not a lot of motivation to walk away from guaranteed money. And if Houston wants to drink some of the Kool Aid.
