I just don't it happening with this offensive coaching. The play calling was Anae-isk. And I'm not sold on BJ as a quarterback coach. Being a good QB doesn't mean that you're a good coach. He might turn into one. But as of right now, I think he has a lot to prove.

One thing about the defense, it seems to me that Utah has become a lot more conservative defensively. Perhaps they're missing Anderson as DC? I remember a lot more blitzes and disguises in the past. Remember how Kruger was just brutal when he'd drop back in coverage? They seem to rush the front 4 a lot. And when they want to get pressure, they'll bring someone off the edge. And that's just about it. I'd like to see a lot more on defense.

One last thing, discipline. The same thing that killed them in Provo last year hurt them again tonight.

Well Utah is in the middle of a coaching change on the defensive line. Things will look different next year. Luther Ellis was the man, so putting him at D-Line coach will probably be a good thing.

Utah's defense was very good this year, overall. There were a few slip ups here and there. But this was a young defense, and should be very good next year.

On offense, I think Utah will be fine. Going against Boise State without your starting QB and left tackle would make any offense look bad.

I have been saying all season how nervous their secondary makes me. I never was sold on them. They give up a lot of big plays against teams with above-average receivers. This issue needs to be addressed.

You can only work with the talent you were given. It is clear that Utah needs to go in a new direction as far as the QB spot goes. I would also say I wasn't surprised by the outcome of the game at all and that the Boise State Player of the Game was Shaky Smithson. Either way, Utah goes to a real conference and BYU becomes irrelevant. Must be a good night for you BYU fans knowing that you took it to UTEP and are now on your way to independence..... LOL
 
I sure miss the depth we had a couple seasons ago. It got exposed every time we faced a good team. Our two leading receiver combined for 0 yards in this game. Cain isn't a good QB but he didn't get much help either. Much like the TCU and Notre Dame games I was waiting for someone to step up and make a huge play but we couldn't do it. Oh well, nothing you can do except move onto next season, we won 10 games that is a accomplishment but we clearly need to step up our game to compete in the pac 12. We've added some good RB for future but we need to heavily recruit QB and WR position.

Would they rather have lost this game, leaving them with another 10 win season, if they were heading to the PAC 12 next year with a great recruiting class, 3rd year starter at QB, and a defense that just held one of the most powerful offenses in the nation to their season low points?

Heck, I think deep down you know even BYU fans would trade places in a heartbeat.

We lost a game. No big deal. We still have a brighter future than either Boise or BYU so there will be plenty of times when Ute fans are the ones celebrating.

Your starting QB, Wynn, has always been suspect, and really? You're going to lay the blame on your LT? How many passes did your receivers drop? Had they been able to haul in the passes that hit them in the most horrfic place... their hands, Utah may have stood a chance. Alas, as was shown earlier in the season, they were never as good as advertised.

Utah was WAAAY overrated this year. Good luck in the PAC... you're going to need it. Badly.
 
Utah's quarterback actually makes me feel better about Tyler Hanson. That guy is horrid. Although I'm sure Utah will whip up on Colorado for a few years at least.
 
It was a little frustrating that you could count on the running game for 10 yards - as long as it 3rd and 16.
