What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

We could do that too. 2020 1st for Dinwiddie. I'm just trying to dump Korver's worthless $3.44 if we can.

I actually keep Korver if he doesn't retire. I'd rather pay him $7.5 to play and be a mentor than pay him $3.44 to go away. Of course it all comes down to how much we need that extra $4 million.

It’ll be an extra $5.5 million this offseason if that happens because they’ll stretch him.

Cleveland or Atlanta for sure. Cleveland can do it at the draft with Smith's non-guaranteed contract. His contract is grandfathered into the old rules and he can be used as "cap space" in a trade.

Atlanta has an assload of space they won't use. Crabbe is not an 18M player, but he's also not Mozgov or Mahinmi… he's useful when healthy at a position that doesn't have great depth. It's only like 12-15M in dead money imo.

I don't think they need two max slots... moving Crabbe at the draft gives them a max slot while retaining Russell's caphold.
Quit pissing in my cereal bro. Lol

This off-season is starting to concern me. Biggest summer for free agents maybe ever, we got max space, and we might do diddly squat.

I go back and forth. Tobias is a real possibility. There are also a bunch of guys I think are good fits that we could piece together something good... as @infection has mentioned though... our inability to move on from Favs may hinder us from going that route.

Keeping Favors hinders us moving forward in every scenario besides trading Gobert.

For the record, after waiving and renouncing every player the Nets can AND stretching Crabbe, they still wouldn’t have two max slots. They would have to dump off Dinwiddie, Harris, or Crabbe outright and I am skeptical they can do that with Crabbe (might take two firsts, but if they can keep Dinwiddie and Harris and can get two max guys then that is a no-brainer to me).
