What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

Whoa... flame thrower there... someone call the burn unit
When your so called best offensively player breaks a record for the worst per by a player using 30 % of possession in the playoffs since the 70's U know U have problems. Tell the jazz to sign me I can do that lol

I don't think a guy like Draymond is what we are lacking. If you relied on Draymond to be your 3rd best scorer (much less 1st or 2nd), your team would struggle.

I think Durant's gone either way, sounds like him going to New York is pretty much a done deal. I honestly don't think Draymond would move the needle much for us anyway. He's a great defender be we already have a great defense. What we need is offense, Draymond isn't a scorer and he isn't a good shooter at all. If we move on from Favors we need a stretch 4.

I understand it seems like Durant is headed to NY. **** changes all the time. I’m simply saying what if we could get him based on the apparent internal strife in Golden State.

I know Draymond’s numbers from the perimeter have gotten worse the last few years but I wonder how much of that is from a lack of being engaged as a scorer. His defense and passing are elite. His rebounding is strong. He has a bit more of an offensive game than they run for him there. And he has great switchability.

I don’t know, maybe he’d be a downgrade from Crowder but I think it’s an interesting option to explore.

Tell Dennis to sign me. I'm 6'5. And I can be inefficient as well if they want. They like those players. I'll sign for 5 mil I'll be fair lol

TJ is taking a lot of Kemba to Utah questions... that is one I just can't see... I think Hornets will pony up megamax which is like $50M more than we could offer. Kemba has made good money but he hasn't made so much that he can walk from that dough imo… unless he makes it up in marketing dollars or elsewhere. His big contract was 4/48M.

Tobias has a better chance of happening because I doubt Philly offers the 5 year max... they also have the Jimmy Butler factor they are weighing. Even that is slim because there will be 2/3 teams willing to go full max to him imo.

I mean, give me $2.5M and I’ll live off the interest alone for the rest of my life.
This all depends on lifestyle, yes it’s a lot of money, you or I wouldn’t have to work the rest of our lives, but I’ve heard horror stories of players that retired then went broke pretty fast. The question is how badly does Kemba want out of Charlotte? It’s a poorly run org, he doesn’t have a good team around him, and if they sign him to all that money, they ain’t improving that team at all, and they suck at drafting. I’ve also heard that the team may not want to pay him.

Yep, players are going to give up 50 million to sign with the Jazz. Let’s stay in reality and do trades, not these fantasy free agency ideas were people take less come play here and we are talking 20 million and above players taking the MLE etc.

I think our FO needs to talk publicly like we are thinking big (Kemba, Tobias, Russell, KD, Kawhi, Kyrie), but really buckle down and concentrate on the following guys:

- Jeremy Lamb - 26 year old player who does a bit of everything. He would do a great job complimenting Donovan long term.

- Julius Randle - 24 year old player who would fit us well at PF. He can play so C, so he could be an option in a scenario that Favors departs.

- Malcolm Brogdon - 26 year old PG who would seem to fit well. Comprehensive skill set. Don't think we can get him, but worth testing Milwaukee.

I am very, very confident we can get one of these three guys. Outside of Brogdon, I don't think the other two are near max guys but they address our need for offensive fire power. And any of these guys could grow to be part of a core around Donovan. I like their fit in the present and long term more than Conley. And none of these guys should cost us a 1st round pick or Exum.

Do you think he cares what you say. He got 30mil. He's laughing to the bank.
Jazz’s last stand: that Exum was able to extract a larger contract out of the Jazz that may hurt them.

Things getting desperate these days for these guys.
