Game 5: Termination Game -- Jazz @ Thunder 4/25/2018 7:30 pm MST

Jazzfanz is kind of full of a bunch of *******. Wouldn’t be a Jazzfanz if there wasn’t half the guys around here shaking in their boots before every game. Rudy, Mitchell and Jingles are going to be pissed at how this game went down. I’m expecting a great game out of those three and a rebound game by Quin. He was trying, but he let the third quarter get away from them. Even just slow that damage down a little and the Jazz probably still win. Letting them tie the game in the 3rd after blowing a big lead was just too much for a tired team to overcome.

Thing is that Rudy, Ingless and Mitchell have won 2 playoff series between them. Total. Add Rubio to the mix and the total is still two. They realistically don't even really know what they are capable of. Not an All Star in the bunch vs 3 potential HOFers and the reigning MVP of the league with many playoff runs between them. They do know what they are capable of and it's carnage. The Jazz better not take game 6 lightly.

...

I don't get the idea that this loss, seemingly, means practically nothing.

It's a tough loss, duh, but historically the team up 3-2 and heading home was won 7-game series 232 times versus 87 losses.

Jazz still in the driver's seat. Either the tough game would have happened three games from now when they were down 2-0 to the Rockets, or game 6 of this series. Don't seem like such a big difference to me. We're going to see now what these guys are made of.

“Hey, get your ice picks out. Get all your stuff solved. Go out in the parking lot. Do whatever you have to do, to get all the nonsense taken care of, so we can play basketball. Let's get back to the business of basketball."

I agree 100%. If there is one thing that all Jazz fans should have learned by now it's that this team is mentally tough. They don't get rattled and they don't roll over when things don't go well. They fight back. Being 19-28 on the season didn't rattle them at all. They responded. I don't think losing a lead in one game will rattle them either. They'll respond.

Damn... Y'all see Gobert's 4th 'foul'

Good lord. That was a terrible call. Huge momentum swing at that point. Still might have happened, but those two fouls in the 3rd hurt the whole team at a critical time. Jazz need to be more resilient though. They got to playing reactionary instead of aggressively and it burned them. Need to control the tempo and the physicality. They let OKC dictate things in the second half and it burned them.

That 5th foul was some next level stupid by Rudy.

Yes but the ref was waiting to call that and jumped on it... Rudy has to be smarter but it is tough for me to say he can’t do that when PG is blatantly pushing off all night with not one call.

We have the refs a chance to materially affect the game and they did.

The fourth foul on Rudy was worse. There was a little contact and I get what the ref saw... but Rudy can’t bring his arm down when melo is shooting a mid range shot like that... just stay tall. Once he got in foul trouble he couldn’t do anything because he was worried about picking up a foul... sucks to lose that way.

We will recover... I think... home crowd needs to be lit AF.

So tired of this particular argument. Technically it's true. But if people legitimately believe Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell are not All Star caliber talents then they just don't understand basketball at all.

Sure they are all Star calliber talent. The point that you are missing is the confidence you get from being recognized as dominant over and over and over and over again. To HOF credentials. Our players simply don't have the yet. It makes a difference when you need to close a series. We took our foot off of their throats because for one, we didn't have the experience in the moment.

Good news is that this is the worst I’ll feel. We get our **** together and win game 6, and it doesn’t matter.

Or we implode and lose in seven. I’d just shrug my shoulders, the script has been written now. It won’t hurt as bad as this one.

Tempting fate again... Im sure losing in 7 will feel worse.

That is ****ing hilarious. Nothing can possibly top the previous game when Adams hit Westbrook and Rudy was called for the foul.

The NBA should just throw IBM billions of dollars to come up with robot refs. It's easily within their capabilities.

That was a hell of a collapse though. OKC's gonna be all sorts of reinvigorated. Steven Adams and those screens wrecked havoc on the defense.
