What's new

Non jazz 2019 playoff discussion.

Is it just me or does Draymond green do things every game that would get any other player (with maybe the exception of cp3) about 3-4 techs? I’ve never seen a more disrespectful player than Green and I’m old to remember the year Rasheed Wallace got 100 million technicals.

I really feel that the unnecessary long leash the refs have given Green works to their detriment. Tech him up as if he were any other player. He needs to adjust to the rules not the rules adjust to his outlandish antics. I’m tired of him berating officials and swinging his arms after every ****ing call.

I agree 100%. When he got his one tech, I thought he immediately deserved a 2nd tech. After the ref blew the whistle and did the tech motion, Green ran down the court screaming bulls*%# over and over. While doing that he was waving his hand at the refs like get outta here.

He is a disgrace to the game. The refs not tossing him and league not doing more about him is an even bigger disgrace.

Green is one tech away from a suspension - short of punching a ref in the face he won't be getting one in Game 6. And he knows it.

Green's suspension against The Cavs in Game 5 of the 2016 Finals arguably cost GSW a championship and a four-peat dynasty.

The league doesn't want that on their hands again.

Like two plays later Curry lost the ball when dribbling through his legs and it went to Draymond in the back court for a violation.
Green then slammed the ball on the court. That could have been a tech as well.

He has the longest leash I've ever seen... its ridiculous because you know 90% of the twitter world would be like "you can't give him a tech right there... dumb *** ref". He aggressively got in a refs face in game 4 and screamed at dude... like got up from the floor and jumped in his face. I think there is some judgement, but he gets more leash than he deserves.

I don’t disagree with you but I do wonder why Green’s inability to conduct himself as a professional athlete and abide by the league’s rules is the league’s fault?

I remember his last suspension in the finals. Absolutely it cost them a championship. But I never for one second thought it was the league's fault. I always felt like it was 100 percent non Green. No one forced him to hit another player in the groin. No one forced him to rack up 7+ techs resulting in a suspension. Green, not the officials, cost them a championship.

As many of you have shown by listing his antics from last night, he should’ve been kicked out. Had he been kicked out, Toronto would be celebrating a championship today. Which is fine with me.

Why does the league feel that in order to maintain its integrity that it must placate to certain players? If anything, the league looks less objective because it issues special rules to its most unruly players.

Honestly, I’d have no problem next year if the nba went without its biggest stars for a few weeks due to suspensions in efforts to crack down on the nonstop abuse the officials take. As a lifelong fan of the nba, this past year was the worst that I can remember regards to players and officials. Officials can no longer make any call without players whining. And certain players, like cp3 and Green, pull **** that would get anyone else T’d up 3-4 times over.

This needs to change. /end of my TED talk.

The intimidation is real and the complaining works to a certain point... that's the ****** deal.

I remember coaching in a youth flag football league and some opposing coaches were completely out of control screaming at refs, coaches, etc. They had a loose play clock to keep the game moving but these kids were young so sometimes they gave extra time to get flags back on the kids belts and such. I had my kids lined up for a play and the opposing coaches had been screaming about play clock... they whistled a penalty as my kids snapped the ball. I went and talked to the kid who was reefing and I was explained it isn't a rigid clock like the NFL it's jus to line the plays up and calling the penalty at that point actually slowed it down... poor kid looked at me and said "what do you want me to do? they have 3 guys screaming at me all game." I gave him a pat on the back and walked away. I know these refs are grown *** men, but the confrontation they endure is crazy. They have to stay disciplined and can't fight back... players need to have a little more accountability.

I certainly see the merit with the philosophical argument, but as we all know perception is reality.

Simply put, the last thing the NBA wants is to give the impression that the refs are deciding the outcome of games. And with sports betting being so prevalent these days this has become all the more critical.

Klay Thompson possible knee injury. Looked like an acl, he comes back like it was a simple tweak. Wonder of the warriors staff would let him play after Durant got hurt again.

Klay is out for the game. Must be serious. I feel bad for the player, but I don't feel bad for the Warriors or their fans.

They have been almost 100% healthy the last 4 finals. Crap happens. That's why you have 4 all stars and a finals MVP.

Klay now walking with crutches. I still think he's done something to his acl. I did the exact same thing. It took about a 10 minutes to swell up. At first I thought it was ok too.

Looked more like mcl to me

I'm so sick and ****ing tired of hearing how the Warriors are so amazing for playing so depleted.

They have a multi-MVP Curry, an All Star Cousins, an All Star Draymond and a Finals MVP Iguodala.

Shut the **** up Mark Jackson

Hard to tell what he injured in his knee, but betting that they probably did a quick Lachman test for displacement.

Even if GSW somehow pulls this out tonight, no way they win G7.

GSW wins this series if healthy.

I think Leonard’s going to bolt and set up a crazy offseason.
