Everything is shutting down in NJ.

My gym closed down, my basketball league. My job told me to start working from home effective immediately

Still waiting for the other jazz players to get diagnosed making it 50%. That's what the doctor said so it's sure to happen.
 
I started my office self-quarantine today as I'm the most likely one in the office to have serious complications. I'm not going to allow anyone into my office. They can contact me by email and phone. Fortunately I have a job where it isn't necessary to see people face-to-face.

I'm also wearing disposable gloves when I venture out of my office to go to the restroom or get water from the breakroom. I figure the least amount of common surfaces I touch, the better off I'll be.

I am feeling a bit lonely already.

irony and humor compete for what little validation I care to dish out.

self-deprecating humor is my point of pride, if any. I reserve the right to despise myself equally with everyone else.

I am a recovering addict of authoritarianism, I know. Probably it shows in everything I write, which most people rightly reject as way too condescending, too imperiously commanding, and in innumerable other ways obviously offensive to ordinary self-directing human beings who have absolutely no need for my services, opinions, directives, or observations whatsoever.

My most hearty respect goes to those who read what I write, and respond somehow showing my complete imbecility. It is a palliative for my addiction, and I thank those who care to help out in that way.

Do the same at home. I think the highway management authorities should void the HOV lanes and allow free use to anyone, to further reduce unnecessary space-sharing practices and close contac events. It would save, obviously thousands of lives......
 


Donald didn’t want aggressive testing because he feared higher numbers of sick people. He feared the effect of what those higher numbers might have on his re-election.
