What's new

Griffin PIGS get slaughtered in LA tonight

Great players make their teammates better, and contribute even when their shot isn't falling. Millsap does a lot more of both of those than Al (and also happens to score more efficiently and almost as much as Al in the clutch).

but dude. Al is so Big. and he can be occasionally useful in the fourth quarter after sleeping for the first three.

Then you will be happy when the Jazz bring Al back this summer and due to his contract, have to let two of Millsap, Favors and Kanter go, and bring in more players of the Williams/Foye/Tinsley/Watson ilk. You will always have your built in excuse.

They'll trade Jefferson before they have to let Favors and Kanter go.

We have 2 point guards in Tinsley and Watson with zero offensivea & difensive skills!
Just toughness and passing are not enough to legitimate so much playing time!

I'm indifferent to Al. I don't think Al will be brought back. But you're out of your mind if you think Al is the problem. All the analysts look at the Jazz and say the problem is Foye. ESPN repeatedly says that Marvin Williams is the worst starting SF in the league. Al has his faults, but he and Sap are playing with 2nd-rate players in the starting line-up.

green even if your right, which you are not.

you endorse knowing that we've squeezed favors minutes, that finally when hes got minutes were gonna displace him to starting center, when he has expressed he wants to play 4. During his contract year, at 22 y/o.

thats how theyre gonna do the biggest deal-breaking piece we swapped for deron? NO-WAY. wake up alice!!!

What the hell are you trying to say? You make ZERO sense. Are Ty Corbin? His moves don't make any sense either.

Hmm...

Another game in which the starters give us nothing.

Sigh.

Maybe we'll trade big al before the deadline so it clears the logjam we have and get us a much needed pg........

don't forget roger, josh howard and cj.

True. But I'm focusing on this year. Could you imagine what the media would be saying if Lebron James were playing on a team whose starting line-up was Tinsley, Foye and Marvin Williams? It would be getting spurned on national television every single day.

So the problem is Corbin. But don't over look how inefficient Al is offensively, and how inefficient all the players around him are.

I like you because you're Dutch. But in all fairness, you're a narrow-minded a**. The Jazz's most productive line-ups this year and last had Al Jefferson in them, along with Favors. The Jazz's worst line-ups consistently have Foye, Marvin Wiliams and Jamal Tinsley in them.

i jsut dont have short term memory loss.
these jazzposters seem to have shortterm memory loss.
al has 3 good games. and all 41 road games and 25 road games where he sucked seem to be forgotten. and al has improved and is the pwnzor.
or watson has a few good ealry oops and everybody forgot that he is not a team player and he needs to discus HIS future iwth his agent and needs minutes.
everyone seems to forget that al plays zero defense in the payoff.

everyone seems to forget raja bell and josh howar dplaying over young uns.
same thing happening.

I was being ragged on for stating the obvious that this is a road game and al wil suck.

marvin williams is not to blame he makes no mistakes he does the best wuthg what he does. swap hayward and williams in starting lineup and hayward will also give you ****.
foye had a unusual off game.
tinsley is hwat it is we dont have a better option at the moment.
well maybe burks for 30-36 minutes.
still leaves 18-12 minutes for tinsley.

For the record, I like Tinsley. He can be useful, but he shouldn't ever try to guard a good player, and he shouldn't be forced to shoulder such a load. I honestly might prefer him to Mo in all honesty (I know that's nuts).

That said, the Jazz need to just play their best players, and conventional wisdom says your best guards are Mo, Burks, Foye, and Hayward (who is also a forward). Tinsley in a pinch is wonderful, Tinsley as a backup is probably okay in a vacuum as well, but you cannot justify him or Earl playing over Burks. Similarly, Marvin Williams is lucky to get on the floor at all, let alone ahead of anyone that actually tries and can produce at all.

A lot of bad lineups with Al (and Earl...), which makes sense since he's last on the team in +/-.

LBJ was playing on that team and took the to the NBA finals.
