I'd rather go off his career averages of 45% fg, 40% 3pt and 81% ft then 1 crappy preseason. But to each their own i guess.
He is asked to play different role and so far he is struggling ( it is easier for him to make spot up jumpers then create for himself - thus such a dip in FG so far).. I doubt he will ever be "the man" thus I don't think 13+mil is justified by any numbers. Give him 10mil and call it a day.

Vomit. I like Hayward a lot but he will always be limited by his ball-handling and I don't see him as a near max player which is what that extension is.
Mods I suggest the thread title be changed to "Hayward getting extension???"
At least until something is final.
My gosh I think everyone needs to calm down and wait for an official deal is made. Everybody is making assumptions and going freakin crazy here.
Now I think Hayward is a special player and could be replaced, but we would miss certain parts of his game.

BTW, I have a source who says the deal is for 8 million per year. You wanna write another string of stupid posts with this excellent information? I'll be waiting.
You always saythe most awesome things. Brings me back.....
Limited by his ball handling? Have you seen him play? Kid has silky smooth handles.
I'm fine with that. Just trying to base his worth off of one preseason is foolish.
I disagree. It's very loose, it gets stripped a lot, and he still has to look at the ball during his dribbling.
For his size and position his ball handling is above average. Is it PG good, no.
I don't see how it could be a richer deal than Favors. I think Lindsay is smarter than offering Hayward a max deal and I think favors would command more on the open market than Hayward would, as agile, rim protectors that can play the 4 or 5 with some offense are very rare. Maybe the richer part comes from a year longer, like a 5yr/ $50m with the fifth year being a player option.
