This actually makes sense to me. We want Williams... it really makes sense for them to put Williams in the deal. So now we make them do some work to flip Vuc and White into draft capital... because they don't make a ton of sense on our roster.

Williams, #18, the future first the own from Portland (its not great with the protections), and whatever they can get for Vuc/White... but better get something decent.

My guess is they're trying to get more assets to avoid including Williams, actually. So then you'd have Vuc/White/Ayo/18/even more picks

Off the top of my head, teams that need a center include the Hornets (#13/#15), Knicks (#11), and Wizards (#10).
 
My guess is that we demanded Williams, Vuc and so many picks. With that haul, we practically avoid the luxury too. They are probably looking for a 3rd team to take Coby White and send a pick.

Vuc and Williams combine to make less than $30. Rudy makes $38+.

Portland maybe... he doesn't seem like a fit in Toronto but maybe. If Atlanta wanted to give some draft capital and get Vuc to pair with Okongwu maybe they do Capela and a pick?

I could see White going to Denver for one of their picks this year. White for #30 (they can send Green to Chicago too).

I read Portland is likely going to bring Nurk back.

Denver is getting Murray back, Hyland looks legit, and Morris is solid. Not sure White moves the needle for them.

This lines up with Stein reporting that Chicago is the most likely destination if Rudy gets traded.

I knew a guy with four kids and a pretty cool wife who was cute and hard working. He got excited about a much younger girl at the office and thought he’d have a more promising future. I see Hunter and Williams as guys to push for in order to raise the return on other assets. Neither excite me but if they value them irrationally high then it’s a good opportunity to get them to sub in other - and in my opinion even better - assets.
 
I just listened to the Locked on Nuggets podcast, Matt Moore said the expectation around the league at this point is that Gobert is going to Chicago.
