Rush has more class, and maybe more intelligence, than is evident to the DumpTrumpster bunch of knuckleheads.
A caller raised the question of nepotism amongst Deep State professionals. It's a fair question, and goes to cronyism as a campaign issue, and influence peddling in general. Rush dissed it as "The Way We Are", whether in public or private organizations, concluding that "It's Who You Know as much as What you Know."
Considering the record of our high-level bureaucrats regarding schemes to make Trump look bad, and leaks to the media, almost any ordinary American who is not fully soused in the DumpTrump cool-aid, recognizes today that nobody can operate the Presidency without the support of our socialist/communist unelected and above-the-law cliques in Washington......
Xi doesn't even blush, and the State-run Chinese media, including their American holdings in the likes of Hollywood and our mainstream media know better than to criticize Xi.
Nothing "ironic", really. It's the way totalitarians like Xi do business.
Trump deserves the same latitude we gave Obama for picking Executive Branch leadership posts, and imo, he would do better to get some new people in there where ever he can. But Pelosi and the determined Statost Establishment have done everything imaginable to hog tie the Trump Presidency.
But Progressivism is dying the death, with or without Trump. Times are changing. We have a solid core of mature citizenry who've gone through the classrooms of schoolteachers like Thriller, high school and college as well, eating and drinking Progressive crap for generations, and it's such a load people all over the world are sick of it, and the rising rejection of it at every level is epidemic. This is not the real world, it's not the world we want, and it's not what will be our future.
Americans are increasingly rejecting authoritarian governance at every level. It's just gotten so bad people have seen the light. If we don't assert the right to take care of ourselves, whether we do or not, "the authorities" will not do it for us. They take care of their own, that's it. And we're just fools to let them near the levers of power in our government.
I was a bit slow to see the media sources for the Trumpdumpster allegations that "It's All Trump's Fault", and the sources for the complaint in the CYA Washington Bureaucracy, but the more people like Thriller and Colton glomb on it, the more sense it will make.
Politically, this will go against the know-nothing Obama holdovers heading the agencies, whom Pelosi has blocked Trump from replacing with competent, true professional people rather than Obama's political hacks, just like it did on the Ukrainian gambit.
This will also further reduce the cognitive-capable citizenry tolerance for the hack media. You folks know, I suppose, that Obama asserted control of the media by using his agency goons to threaten and intimidate the Press. AP in particular.

OK, so after going over the subject a bit, as concerned as I can be over government incompetence under anyone, even Jesus for Hell's Sake, I'm ready to make a few notes.
The Australian vaccine for CoViD-19, indeed a close relative to SARS, is being developed with State-of-the-Art technology, and the program has been making extremely positive progress for over seven weeks now. They are already doing Safety evaluations and scale-up batches. It will be given to First-Responders dealing directly with CoViD-19 patients. In that context, Trump does not look quite so overconfident in saying "We've got it under control", although I still think that's a bad line to use. "We're making progress towards a vaccine" would be more justifiable. "We are hopeful we can slow it down and minimize this virus" might be fair enough.
The vaccine being developed is being designed from lab-made proteins derived from the CoViD-19 genome. This technique is similar to some I used in research over 40 years ago, working on monoclonal anti-bodies for various applications. If you challenge a target, and get a batch of antibodies, you can use those antibodies to find the antigen. Pure research. Now they use the genome, and just make all the possible antigens, and run tests to see which ones serve as good vaccine- producing material.
If you make a vaccine this way, you also eliminate a lot of the concern about causing harm to the patient who may have some closely-related structural protein that could become an auto-immune problem. So, you're way ahead on Safety to begin with..... and you can find an effective vaccine more efficiently.
I call this research very positive, and real progress.
I think it turns me more towards the possible malevolence of a Media run amok with fear-mongering and unfounded criticisms of what some political target has done. And, since Xi did the due diligence to get this research on it's way, this even looks good for him.

Nobody wants China to stand for civilization and a new world order. They're as backward as the Han Dynasty ever was or ever could be. I mean, it seems likely that almost anyone directly involved would know all that weeks ago, and the real question is now how much can we really trust our science, under both Trump and Xi.+

The gist of the story is that the ccp was trying to develop a nerve agent they could put in the air as an aerosol that would make the Hong Kong population more docile and quiet down the protests. The nerve agent was tested on incarcerated populations in remote areas of China (mostly Xinjiang Prov.), and it turned out to be too deadly during trials to use. It was then being held in the BSL-4 facility in Wuhan when the CIA heard about it and tried to purchase it. A struggle ensued, and the nerve agent escaped containment. It's lethal. The actual death toll in Wuhan alone is over 200,000 and possibly in the millions.
So what's happening is that some people in Wuhan and China more broadly are getting the flu as usual, since it's flu season, and others are being afflicted by this deadly bio-weapon. The ccp is coercing medical personnel in China to diagnose regular flu cases as coronavirus, but this is just a cover. There is no coronavirus. There is instead this deadly bio-weapon that escaped containment. The WHO is supporting the cover story, and so is the U.S. No one wants to talk about bio-warfare in the public sector or to disclose behind-the-scenes cooperation between the U.S. and China. The doctor who tried to blow the whistle in December Li Wenliang was taken out to cover it up.
