Jazz trade John collins

Grimes can pass and reliably shoot a basketball which is more than you can say for Kuminga or Giddey. We desperately need anyone that does any kind of connective/facilitative ****.

Yeah…Grimes fills nicely into most teams, and while his run with the Sixers might not be real it does indicate he has some potential. I don’t think Giddey and Kuminga really work as scaled down players.

Who else we going to pay in the next 4 years? Walker is the only upcoming RFA we have to worry about. He's 22 coming off a career season. Seems like the kind of smart risk to take. I just dont think it's really realistic given teh Bulls will probably just match whatever we can come up with.
Would giddey ruin the tank though?
Would hate to have positioned ourselves with the perfect roster to get Dybantsa next season and then pay giddey and lose out on a top pick because of it

Until we identify our franchise player, why are we going to add another solid to pretty good player? We just dumped a few solid to pretty good players.
This.

Basically, Clarkson had significantly less than zero value. Sexton had a slightly negative value and Collins had a slightly positive value. Add them all together, and the Jazz freed up some cap space, added Nurkic, Anderson and possibly Love. . . while letting our three guys get into situations that are better suited for them personally.

Oh well. At least they picked a lane.

Take on salary dumps with the trade exception and MLE. Fill the coffers with second round picks. No offer sheets in FA. Hold our nose for one year. Go into next offseason with a bunch of cap space and decide what you want to do with it.
This is the play. Victor has his Harper. Ace needs his AJ. After this year we control our draft pick, have more coming in and can begin building in earnest.

We are absolutely not keeping Lauri, we're nowhere close and Lauri only has a tiny window left that he could hypothetically defend in the postseason.
This, along with your previous posts, is why you aren't invited to parties. We get it: you're bummed out, you don't like the front office, you possibly need to exercise more or take an SSRI.

Regardless: we're good, we get where you're coming from, no need for more of this. (Hint: if you're getting likes on your post from Tremendous Upside, it's a good indicator that it's time to log off and recalibrate.)

I'll just add: if the draft lottery is, in fact, rigged, I think it works in our benefit next year. AJ and Booz2 both want Utah. We got stiffed this year. There's a whole lot of suspicious eyes looking at Silver and the draft and giving Utah the top pick would be an excellent distraction. My inner conspiracy theorist believes we get #1 or #2 assuming no major roster additions.

Hell, I'd settle for 3.

if Love is barely an NBA player, I would not hate keeping him around for a few months for some mentoring or whatever.
I've heard Love is an exceptional locker room guy and a strong mentor, with lots of playoff experience to talk about. Hope he's around to play that role.

Kyle Anderson on the other hand... am I remembering right that there were reports out of MN that he was a locker room cancer? The entire fight with Gobert, etc.

Probably best to take the TPE into the season when teams are more desperate to dump salary but I could see us taking Niang, Drummond, Saric now if they got a decent second or two. I think if you really want to use it all and maximize the TPE/Remaining MLE that you need to do one transaction preseason... we will see if Ryan gets cheap here.

Yep. Would love to keep Love, but it seems like he wants the buyout - which I don’t blame him for.

Anderson, I’d really like to see them flip for someone / something else - hopefully a positive asset.
