What Do We Do if we get no big name tree agents?

So if we totally whiff on everything, do we take Hayward back? What if it came down to Hayward or Love?

Take Hayward back? Should we just snap our fingers and waive a big magic wand? What world are you living in? Are you aware of any players on any teams that are free agents this summer? Out of hundreds of realistic possibilities, you chose Hayward? Why would anyone think of this as an option? Do you know how NBA contracts work at all? You must be the guy that takes your girl back after your friends went D BO Friday on her. She walks in to apologize after missing for a week and you have a rose bush you ripped out of the neighbors yard waiting inside to greet her with. If the Jazz traded $29.7 million dollars of assets to acquire Gordon Hayward back, I would renounce my 32+ years of being a Jazz fan and happily never support the Jazz again. I watch Hayward video when he broke his ankle again and again every night to help me sleep better. My only regret is I wish his face split in half the way his leg did.

Studs don’t want to sign here. So what’s your solution? Have Lindsey sign, and maybe even overpay, anyone else?

If we build the right organization, anyone will want to sign here. Golden State is the perfect example. They were the basketball hell of the league until the drafted a trio of guys that showed the league up. Milwaukee is another example. There are moves you have to make. While other teams value picks, we give them away for nothing. Negotiation is a strong piece to having the right team.

This is such a stupid take. It's not like Hayward pulled a Kawhi and refused to play while cashing the team check. The fact is that Hayward 100% completed his obligation to the team (HE DID NOT OWE THE JAZZ ANYTHING) and then left. He didn't handle his exit with grace and class, but the other 7 years he was good to the team.
Rejoicing in Hayward's pain is like celebrating when you find out that the girl who dumped you in high school is in an abusive marriage.

It seems there's a lot you don't understand about the way Hayward left that really hurt the Jazz going forward. Had he even demanded a trade at midseason or let the Jazz know he would be leaving sooner instead of stringing them a long until it was too late in free agency it would've been soooo much better.

How many guys do that? I can’t think of many. Or situations where the team does trade them thinking that said soon to be FA will walk.

Teams hold out hope that they can make a playoff run, entice the player to stay, and so forth.

Had we traded him, we wouldn’t have had a solid playoff run. Or maybe even made the playoffs. This might’ve changed Spida’s view on us as an organization and the fact that he wanted to be here.

What free agents have they signed?

Hayward did what he felt was best for him. Again he didn’t owe us anything. He probably didn’t want to leave the team in a trade. I’m fine with that.

You can't think of many that have done that? For starters I'll name Paul George, Anthony Davis, Chris Paul, Demarcus Cousins, James Harden, Carmelo Anthony, James Harden..etc. All left their previous team in a better situation by letting them sooner that they wanted out.

If we can't get a big time FA the options I like are 3:

1. trade for long-term solution at the PG spot(Dinwiddie is the perfect target if BKN gets Kyrie and keep DLo)
2. 1 year deals with players that will improve our rotation
3. stay put, keep flexibility for next year(you might do this in conjunction with 2)

The more I think about it the more I do NOT want us to trade long-term assets for someone like Conley or Lowry... We need long-term solution for the position, not rentals.

I think everyone needs to put together their top 10 scenario list. Maybe I'll create a thread about it.
