Better days are coming...
I have a feeling that a lot of people see the entire thing the way I do. The Dems have hated Trump since day 1 and openly dreamt about the day they would impeach him. The have kept trying and failing to keep that promise. Now they are on to the Ukrane thing where the leader of their committee literally had to make up another version of the conversation in order to come up with something as startling as the whistelblower said this was going to be. As a result of all the idiocy, Trump has concluded that participating in this circus that the Dems run and completely control would be worse for him, regardless of the facts, than sitting this one out and waiting for the investigation to implode just like all of the efforts to date have. My money is on Trump to win this fight. I can't understand how he keeps moving forward in the face of this constant chaos, but it seems to fuel him somehow.Just a wild guess. Sondland was not allowed to testify because team Trump realized he would not hide the conversation with Trump preceding the text message stating to Taylor that there was no quid pro quo. That text comment was meant to be on the record, to counter what Taylor said. Chances are Sondland would implicate Trump in a coverup if he testified. Everybody has to be lawyered up, and you don't really want to lie to these Congressional committees. He would have been really grilled on that conversation with Trump.
If Trump is covering up his quid pro quo, it will ultimately be his own words that lead to that particular article of impeachment. With Nixon, he didn't destroy the tapes, and his coverup was suddenly bathed in the light of day. I think we should expect more light on Trump via the Ukraine phone call. And I don't think the decision on Syria and the Kurds is sitting well with a lot of Americans. Would not surprise me if that is playing, or will play, into the trend upward in favor of impeachment. Absorbing that decision and comparing what we see to his self described "great and unmatched wisdom" is really jarring. The entire presidency is a cruel joke.

Guess we now know what Barr's meeting with Rupert Murdoch was about.
If you truly believe this is all manufactured by the Democrats who are just "out to get Trump", then you're an idiot.
I predict that you are not going to like it one bit when the people who you refer to as idiots are proven right. This entire episode is being bungled beyond belief because the Dems are hellbent on orchestrating this entire fiasco to tell the story that they want it to. I am not saying that Trump is wonderful or anything close. I did not vote for him and I will not vote for him. I would love to see better candidates than those we are being offered. What I am saying in regard to all of this (and have been saying since Day One) is that trying to defeat Trump by exaggerating and overstating the facts is much more likely to have the opposite effects. If you truly believe this is all manufactured by the Democrats who are just "out to get Trump", then you're an idiot.

A generous severance package. Smith references an "agreement" that will keep him from working for a few years. You honestly believe that Barr got Smith canned? How do you explain the things that Smith said when signing off which are completely contrary to that suggestion? Is Trump holding Sheppard's children hostage or something?
LOL. Aren't you the guy who is always arguing that every statement can't be taken 100%? Yes, there are exceptions to all rules. I guess I should have replaced "Dems" with "Trump Haters." That would definitely have been more accurate. That would leave Dems like Alan Dershowitz (who are still the voice of sanity in that party) in the proper category as well. My bad.Well, I mean, the person who started this thread is a republican so........
