Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

This is an easy riddle.

The answer is you spin the same things over and over.
Ah, says the guy who never brings content. You're nothing but spin talking about me spinning. Funny....

You're like my wife who wants to talk more about "my tone" instead of the fact that I was correct about something.

Bruh I clearly answered the question. Both. You do both things.
People could do research on my consistency through the last 2 years. Same message over and over and over and over.

The problem is that I represent a side opposite of you, many others and even the mod's. I know that Donovan was the answer but we always built around Rudy.

It's all okay. Y'all have run other posters off, y'all will probably run Donovan Mitchell off, and I see again that I'm wasting my time on the same stuff.

Go Jazz

Yes, turn on the modstapo. See the light.

No, the problem is that you spam your side over and over to every single person who disagrees with it and won't let a single conversation continue without interjecting your side at every possible break.

There's a reason why so many people expressed the sentiment that conversations around here were amazing during the week you were banned. Because you weren't here to derail them.

That's not even the issue. HE doesn't read post. Like him asking me to answer his inane question when I clearly just answered it in the post he quoted.

I dont mind incessant arguing (honestly that's what we all do), just actually respond to what we are sayng instead of talking to a wall.

None of the reports were from authenticated sources. They were all veiled threats of "one day Don will want to go to a larger market." Believe it or not, stars can't address every rumor. And the rumors that flooded in were so vague that it wasn't worth addressing.

Can't address every rumor. I mean hell, he told a reporter that he plans on coming back. He got the same question over and over and he finally just said "I want to process this loss" and everybody acted like he didn't already say he was planning on coming back.
They were all from reputable places. He could also just say anything on the Jazz... He told some NY folks at the baseball game he wasn't talking basketball.. he liked a tweet about a dude coming home from NY and asking him if he was going to be there... we'll see he said. He has basically pled the fifth... which is fine. But zero comments on the Jazz. If he didn't want out it would be quite easy for him to simply say "welcome coach hardy!"

Its so clear there is an understanding now... its clear to me when it started as well... when he was unnerved and shocked by an event you could totally see coming and had CAA release and article through Woj that was clearly prepared well ahead of time.

He likely has not asked for a trade but said his preference is to be somewhere else. If it drags and it looks like he won't get what he wants his team will get more public.

I remember quite clearly in that convo between Jazz writers on twitter being mentioned (by Tony Jones If i'm not mistaken) that the reason that Donovan Mitchell wasn't asking for a trade now is because he knows he didn't play well enough last season to be in the position to make such demands (at least in the perception of the public, it seemed to be the case).

Don’t the Heat have some incentive to play along with a rumor that they’re gonna empty the cupboard to get Mitchell (5 firsts, Herro, swaps, etc).
Haven't they tried doing this already? I think the problem is nobody believes the Heat can actually offer that kind of package. How do they get to five firsts while keeping Herro available for another trade? I haven't seen anything more convincing than a "Pat Riley black magic" argument.

Has one of his kids and another on the way.

She has 8 million followers on IG though, so she was making money way before Herro.
I was joking. I know they’ve got kids together.

I’m not going to criticize anyone for having relationships or making money. In all seriousness, I don’t dislike Herro, and would be fine with him on the Jazz - I just think we can get better compensation for Donovan.

I outlined it above. Essentially a Lowry/Strus package to Dallas while taking back Bertans salary and salary filler coming to us with their 2025 1st.

4 unprotected 1sts and 3 pick swaps + Herro + Jovic + Yurtseven is a realistic package they could come up with.

The Jazz's best way to make New York reconsider their trade package:

  1. Tell NYK they are keeping Mitchell with the idea of a 1 year tank into a rebuild
  2. Draft Victor #1
  3. Trade Clarkson/Bogey/Gay all off the team to maximize assets and cap room for 2023
  4. Sign max free agents. Go out and overpay for Khris Middleton and Andrew Wiggins.
  5. Compete

Obviously a lot of **** has to go right for this to work, but it at least is something the Jazz can legitimately act like they are doing and NYK will have to respect it.

We are going to go through all of this just to make the Knicks give us a better package?

Eh. Getting LeBron and Bosh to put together their big three, trading for Dragic and Lowry, plus getting a pretty good deal for Jimmy Butler probably help to perpetuate that myth. Miami always seems to be able to pull off some sort of deal.

They’ve drafted okay, but they clearly stake their organizational reputation on being able to bring in quality free agents because it’s Miami. And that seems to be a legit thing. I would hate to count on Miami bottoming out for maximum trade value. Betting on the Knicks (or TWolves or Kings) is a much safer deal.
