It wasn't a suspension. It was an immediate ban, doe.
If you believe that we've never given CJ infractions for his post content then you believe incorrectly. I'm sure that if you ask him he'll tell you all about the time he got an infraction for using the phrase "cotton picking" in a particular way. We all know what the CJ persona is and everyone takes it about as seriously as they should. He's no where near as bad in terms of omnipresence as, say, in 2004.
The JF moderating system, by design, makes it almost impossible to get banned. You almost have to try, post repeatedly while drunk and ignorant of the potential consequences, and/or be so obnoxious that someone will work really hard to find the five worst and most disruptive things that you do over a six month period. Even those that meet those high hurdles tend to get let back in at some point if they're nice about it and appeal to Jason's soft underbelly. Let's be clear: despite all the bitching and moaning that gets done about moderation, most of you like it that way. No one wants us to actively witch hunt trolling because all the most popular members of the board would be on red alert. No one wants us to infract PKM for playing with bbcode username tags and causing mass confusion. No one wants us to hunt down the UGLI group's inside jokes. For the most part you want to be left alone and that's what we do. We hand out, on average, maybe 5-10 infractions per month across all the users and then spend lots of digital ink dealing with people who publicly complain about it.
In short, Hantlers, you don't want to be judged by the standards you want us to hold CJ to. That's not the board you want to post on.
"Banned" is different than "suspended".
It wasn't a suspension. It was an immediate ban, doe.
The fact that you can write those words means that you were not banned. At least not permanently. And a temporary ban IS a suspension.
I think I've got it. When someone has been banned, the term changes once they are allowed to return. The ban obviously becomes a suspension because they are back.
What's a permaban? (does the forum use both terms 'ban' and 'permaban' or is the latter a poster-created term?)
I think you should know better than to tell me what I want for myself. I post on several boards, the moderators here are by far the worst of all of them.
The only reason it was a "suspension" is because you guys realized very quickly you screwed up by banning them. Maybe try to own up to your mistakes rather than make up excuses.
It should be apparent that your game went on long enough. We locked your thread. You have thus far attempted to make two new threads. I'm not going to play this game with you. If another thread is made tonight I'm going to put you both on temporary ban until we vote on you two.
I wish I could perma-ban Hantlers for at least a day. That would rule.
The next person who says "doe", and I don't care if you're friend or foe, gets a neg from me. For eternity.
Not kidding.
Poster-created. The only official terms are suspension and ban. See here: https://jazzfanz.com/faq.php
But I came across a strange thing as I have surfed through the site.
Ahh, why you gotta be like that....though?
I shot a doe.
'Round here mods are held to higher standards

Did you eat your doe with sourdough though?
That's 'cause we're professionals.
Well, all but me. I chose not to accept a salary for my work here.
I think that gives me tons more latitude around here.
