WWIII, The Mother of all Oil Wars, Shaping Up

Canada cancelled all Russian export permits in response to invasion of Ukraine. Small step but more countries hopefully will follow. This needs to end from within. Most of regular Russian folk do not want war. Only way to remove Putin from power is for them to revolt and get his *** out.. What other countries should do is to make life miserable for Russian businesses, sports, travel industry, cancel all visas, flights, etc. basically Isolate them from world. I would see how long they would be happy with that.

Didn't good old Vlad have his term extended to something crazy like 2035 ?? It's gonna have to be a full on bloody revolt to get rid of him

Looking at this from Putin's head, he knows what people think. He knows he can't count on support if he actually takes Ukraine, or even solidifies Luhansk and Donetsk as independent countries. Cose but no cigar. He has to look "reasonable" and be acting in Russian interests.

That's why I am surprized he is advancing on Kiev from Belarus and attacking an outpost like the inconsequential "Snake Island". RT has gone dead on news about purposes and objectives and movements, beyond stating that Ukranian forces are moving intoi Luhansk, supposedly to do genocide on ethnic Russians.

Russia has exclusive control over the Black Sea, with Turkey just saying they want a negotiated peace. Russia's Mediterranean fleet appears to be concentrating near its Syrian port, close enough to act on the Bosporus if turkey closes it. I don't think they will until/unless civilian casualties become in evidence.. Then, I think so.

NATO just cleared out of the Black Sea. A month ago.

I'm increasingly skeptical about Putin on the reasonable argument.

I am very surprised to hear of demonstrations inside Russia against this war. Good.

What are you even saying here? Try English if you know how to speak it fluently.

I think he's reconsidering his support of Putin. Who knows, maybe it will lead to questioning some of his other positions. Don't discourage him. :)

I'm gonna put this bluntly: you don't know your head from your *** on this one.

@babe this is an example of RT’s reliability. They lie about a Ukrainian missile blowing up a residential building. Pssssss it’s Russia launching missiles at buildings. They’re the ones responsible. But RT can’t say that because they’re Russian state owned media.

Again, why you think they’re a reliable source of information is beyond me. Other than you’re just overly cynical and distrustful of actual news media sources.

I'm going to put this bluntly. I know who you are, what your interests and values are, what your character is.

I don't have a dog in this fight. You do.

I think people like you are as much a problem as anyone in this world, and that the world's problems come from arrogance like yours, interests like yours, and character like yours.

And I don't think you are going to listen to me. But then, really, that's your problem.

Western interests and values, from the legal viewpoint, are threatened more by you than most people understand. But then Putin is no better than you, nor is Xil.

Arrogance all around.

Go duke it out with someone who matters, or cares.

I think RT has been knocked out. Anyway, I'm not even trying to get on RT. Western leaders are calling for a "single narrative" on Ukraine. Yah, know, like in WWII we censored some enemy media.

I never just believe reports without reason, of some kind, and never much beyond my ability to independently verify the facts.

My comments in here have been more of an exercise of my own to present what little I can find on either side of the issue. Since the CNN version of news is already here in spades, I tried to find something else. E even went to Al Jezeera, Turkish, and Servian and Chines sources.

Can't just believe everybody, ya know.

What your comments amount to is suppression of other views, via personal attacks and such.

Russians once got rid of Tzar.... I would not count them out vs Putin lol.
Looking at the most recent articles in Foreign Affairs today, it looks like the idea is "get Putin". They are saying he has significant difficulties at home. The insinuation there is that Putin is doing desperate things, and making mistakes, and that there are people inside Russia who can fix it all.

If you were a thorough researcher of my comments over the years, or had a live memory, you would know I'm not a supporter of Putin except on specific points, and maybe a generality or two. My most frequent comment would run something like "Hillary is as bad as Putin" or "Obama is as bad as Putin". I know he's a former KGB officer stationed in Germany and fluent in some languages, and very well-informed on basically "The West". I know he has run out some foreign investors because he didn't trust them to help with his power base. People like the Huntsmans.

I noted his accuracy in his analysis that Western "Elites" are not really all that even-handed or honorable about treaties and such, when he basically said "The UN is not a new world order, but just a band of thugs who cheat every chance they get".

I agree with that.

I don't think I' have every just believed Pravda or any other propaganda media source, even our own.

Things to watch are (1) will China betray his belief of support for his Ukraine actions.. (2) Will China exploit this distraction and land troops on Formosa. I Call it Formosa because it was Formora before Japan and China made it their imperial colony, sequentially. It is not Chines territory, never has been.

Ukraine elements, say the Kickies over there, yah know, foreigners with specific political agendas, are passing out pistols and low-capacity rifles to the citizens, hoping to make it more messy for Russia to achieve key goals. I had thought Zelensky was talking to Putin and that there could be negotiations. It appears to me that Putin wants negotiations and our diplomats and some fascist elements, agitators, don't.

I do think Putin will gain street cred in some Middle East areas and in some other countries with anti-Ameran influences.

I noticed that Serbia and Turkey have significant pro-Russian politics, but still oppose Luhansk and Donetsk independence. Servia didn't like Bosnia going that way. Turkey has some ethnic people like the Kurds who could, if that becomesw a fashionable thing.

I expect rhetoric to escalate to outright lies in a war. Can you find any lies in our media? Are you even capable of objective discussion?

But yah, OB is right on his point.
