Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

Toronto could have a legit offer. Three of their own firsts and OG (who could likely get at least 2 other firsts... maybe 3 in the right scenario).

As soon as the Knicks see they are playing with fire they asses will pucker and they will run to the phone to get Danny on the line.

C'mon bro. You hated on Rudy as much if not more than any other poster here has hated on anybody. If you're gonna be like this, look in the mirror. You are far more guilty of what you are pointing your fingers at others than 90+% of us.
I didn't believe we could win a title with everything built around Rudy. It's not hate; it's an opinion.

I'm critical of Don, but nobody acknowledges it. I'm critical of Rudy, and I'm a hater.

I do think this is plausible, at least. Likely? Probably not (I don't think Dallas is likely to go there, at least not before the season plays out a little bit).

But when you're comparing it to the desire for 6 picks from the Knicks (plus some usable players), it's still rather far short to me (I know we disagree about Herro's value to the Jazz).
If 4 of those firsts are the ones they own from other teams its like 3.5 firsts and they will all be in the 20s... then you get the Knicks 23/25 (unprotected?).

I outlined it above. Essentially a Lowry/Strus package to Dallas while taking back Bertans salary and salary filler coming to us with their 2025 1st.

4 unprotected 1sts and 3 pick swaps + Herro + Jovic + Yurtseven is a realistic package they could come up with.
I'm also a good deal more pessimistic that Riley's willing to come sweeping in with a 4 unprotected pick offer than you and HH seem to be.

I honestly think the best way to deal with this is to tell Hardy that it is likely we deal Donovan before the season but he may very well be on the roster to start camp. We will have some awkwardness for sure but not a big deal. Don may put some pressure on CAA to get a deal done to save him some awkwardness.

It may help derail their season. The earlier they get him into camp the better their record will be. We take our sweet *** time he misses camp... disrupts everything they are doing and ensures 2023 is a lotto pick.

You don’t even entertain them if the picks aren’t unprotected. If the Knicks are offering protected picks and the Heat are offering unprotected that’s where the deals can start looking very similar value wise.

It would be 3 plus swaps plus Herro and Jovic. If they get something for Kyle and Strus that's a bonus and likely a protected pick.

If the current offer is Toppin/Mcbride NY first in 23 and the garbage picks they have then the Heat offer is better even though it has less picks.

Riley is confident enough to trade 3 unprotected picks for a star. Jimmy is old... their window is now.

You and Cy are two princes if you ask me. Go ahead now.

No thanks, I’d rather have Miami’s unprotected 23/27/29 plus pick swaps in 24/26/28 plus whatever other picks they may be able to get than that package.

One thing I don't get. If getting Grimes is this huge priority... a big chunk of his value is because he is cheap the next three years... which doesn't do a ton for us.

It’s better than having to pay an extension right away I suppose but I’m not sure why he’d be a sticking point just like I’m not sure McDaniels was but likely a way to get more picks. Only player I think really has to be involved is Toppin. You can swap the other young players anyway you want.

We need at least three 1sts that aren’t protected more than about top 3-5. Then one more that is protected top 15. And a couple swaps. Or the Knicks can kindly **** off.
I want all four of them. But Ainge wants more than either of us, so we’re good.
